About The Event
Join ForestHer NC in the Mountains Region for a hands-on forestry workshop exploring practical stewardship techniques that support healthy, resilient forests. We'll discuss the importance of retaining snags for wildlife habitat, learn how thoughtful thinning can improve forest health, and explore effective strategies for identifying and managing non-native invasive plants with the proper use of herbicide. Whether you're a woodland owner or simply interested in learning more about forest stewardship, this workshop offers an opportunity to connect with other women and gain practical knowledge you can apply to your own woods.
This is a hands-on learn & work day event. The terrain is relatively open until we get to first stands but the slope of the area we are working on is moderate to difficult level. Water & snacks will be provided but please bring your own brown bag lunch for this event.
